Job Overview

Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced environment. This is an entry-level, temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for someone looking to grow their accounting career while gaining hands-on experience. The Accounting Assistant will work closely with the accounting team to support accounts payable/receivable, data entry, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks.

This role offers the opportunity to convert to a permanent position based on performance and business need and is a hybrid schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Enter and maintain accurate financial data in QuickBooks
  • Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments
  • Perform basic account and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close activities and reporting preparation
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
  • Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries
  • Support general bookkeeping and administrative accounting tasks
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company procedures

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks is required
  • Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data entry
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a structured environment
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
